So, several principles of conduct emerged aimed at controlling military activities, means and ways of war of the parties and their treatment with the victims of war. What has accepted by international community, just after several centuries, and caused law of war to change into humanitarian law, has been reaffirmed by Islam and, in spite of some misunderstandings and altered and extremist activities and practices, there are some principles derivable from Islamic sources and thoughts, complying with them can improve the status of war victims and preserving their inherent human dignity and value. Reviewing these principles, especially at this time because of the violent activities of some extremist groups attributing themselves to Islam, is a new necessity. These principles include some common principles between Islam and international humanitarian law, and some special in Islam. This article aimed at studying of common principles of Islam and international humanitarian law, that indicate the influence of Islamic thoughts on the development of these principles; there are some special Islamic principles of conduct on protecting victims of armed conflicts that needs another study. از نگاه حقوق بین‌الملل بشردوستانه، هدف هر یک از طرفین مخاصمه مسلحانه تنها باید تضعیف نیروهای دشمن و خارج کردن آنها از صحنه مبارزه باشد. براین اساس، اصولی چند به منظور هدایت و کنترل اقدامات نظامی، شیوه‌ها و رفتارهای جنگی طرف‌های مخاصمه و چگونگی رفتار با افراد و گروه‌های گرفتار در دست دشمن، شکل گرفته‌است. آنچه در جامعه بین‌المللی، پس از گذشت قرن‌ها پذیرفته شده و حقوق جنگ را به حقوق بشردوستانه متحول ساخته، در اسلام از ابتدا مورد تاکید بوده و به‌رغم برخی ادعا‌ها و رفتارهای انحرافی و افراطی، در منابع، سیره و آموزه‌های متعالی اسلام اصولی قابل استنباط است که پای‌بندی به آن می‌تواند در بهبود وضعیت قربانیان جنگ و پاسداشت کرامت و ارزش انسانی آنان نقشی تحول‌آفرین داشته باشد. بازخوانی این اصول به ویژه در شرایط ظهور برخی گروه‌های افراطی و رفتارهای خشونت‌آمیز برخی جنگجویانی که خود را منتسب به اسلام معرفی می‌کنند، ضرورتی تازه یافته است. این اصول شامل اصول مشترک با حقوق بین‌الملل بشردوستانه و اصول خاص نظام حقوقی و اخلاقی اسلام است. پژوهش حاضر تحلیل و بررسی اصول مشترک در اسلام و حقوق بین‌الملل بشردوستانه را عهده‌دار شده که خود نشان از نقش تعالیم اسلام در پیدایش و تحول اصول یادشده دارد، اما تبیین اصول رفتاری خاص اسلام در حمایت از قربانیان مخاصمات مسلحانه، پژوهشی دیگر را می‌طلبد.
