Abstract
The self-determination right as the most basic principle for creating democratic systems and realizing the fundamental rights and freedoms of people in society is necessary so that all people, including people with disabilities, can benefit from the possibility of ruling their own will in determining the rules governing society. From a long time till now, the existence of charitable and medical models in different societies, especially developing societies, has led to the fact that the participation of this part of the society in determining their own destiny get minimal and the governments consider themselves obliged to intervene in all of their activities.Over time, although social models and human rights have reduced some of the obstacles facing the right to choose people with disabilities, the sovereignty of the will of this part of the society at multiple levels has not occurred equally in the entire world. Setting up appropriate mechanisms in order to recognize the sovereignty of people with disabilities in determining their own destiny, determining legislative policies, increasing the participation of people with disabilities in the fields of legislation, executive and supervision, and reducing government interventions in the activities of this part of society as much as possible ; provides the possibility of creating equality of opportunities and maintaining the dignity and high human value of people with disabilities in the context of having the right to rule over their own destiny.
